Message from the Chair

I’m happy to share some exciting updates for the Alberta Aviation and Aerospace Council. First, I want to extend our sincere appreciation to PrairiesCan for their generous support.

This funding enables us to expand our annual aviation summit to include dedicated aerospace and defense components, making this year’s event our most comprehensive yet. We look forward to uniting Alberta’s aviation, aerospace, and defense communities under one roof and to hosting our second annual Aircraft Maintenance Competition, which attracted over 300 students last year. Please save the date—May 5-7 in Calgary!

Additionally, I am pleased to announce and congratulate Vaibhav Sharma, who has accepted a full-time position as Project Manager. Vaibhav has already proven to be instrumental in advancing our goals, and his dedication is making a meaningful impact on our organization and the success of our upcoming summit.

Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of attending ATAC, where I connected with the chairs of other associations across Canada. It was inspiring to witness the great work being done nationwide and motivating to consider how Alberta’s growth can connect with both national and provincial initiatives. I’m also particularly excited to see our own committees growing, gaining momentum, and contributing to our shared vision.
